We build trust into every trip with profiles, reviews, and a clear pickup confirmation.
Every user has a profile with a verified email and phone number. Drivers add boat details and a home harbour.
After each trip, riders and drivers rate each other. Reviews are public once both have submitted or after 14 days.
The rider shows a 4-digit PIN at pickup. The driver must enter it to start the trip, creating a reliable record.
If something goes wrong, riders can dispute a completed trip within 48 hours before the driver payout is released.
The skipper is responsible for their own boat and must hold valid boat insurance; they state this on their profile and it shows as a badge on their bids. Wyber is a marketplace, not a carrier — we own no boats and take no carrier liability. Check for the insured-boat badge before you book, and ask the skipper if anything is unclear.
There must be a life jacket for everyone on board — say how many children are coming in your request so the skipper brings the right sizes. Children under 15 wear a jacket while under way. Any crossing can be called off at no cost if wind or visibility makes it unsuitable.
